For the coaster enthusiast, one tool of self-measurement is the coaster credit (aka coaster count). Over the years, enthusiasts accumulate more coaster experiences and bump up their coaster counts. At times, those counts can be discussed and debated among fellow thrill seeking enthusiasts. Of course, it always feels nice when that coaster count grows and hits new milestones – sort of bragging rights and fond memories to cherish thereafter. One major contributor towards an enthusiast’s count is when he or she started really riding roller coasters and travelling to other parks. Often, enthusiasts will live near one or two parks, but growing that count takes some traveling and sometimes some luck.

At least one five-year-old living in Phoenix, Arizona, however, has a nice head start and some future bragging points. Logan began riding roller coasters when he was 1 years old during a trip to Lake Winnepesaukah {known more commonly as “Lake Winnie”] in Rossville, Georgia. Sure, the Wacky Worm might have been his first coaster, but he seemed to take a liking to coaster riding! Ever since, he has been adding more coaster credits along the way. It certainly helps that his parents, Bruce and Mauri Freedle, have a passion for riding roller coasters – Bruce has amassed 840+ coaster credits, and Mauri’s count is 456.

In late 2014, Logan rode his first inverted roller coaster, Freedom Flyer, at Fun Spot   During a family trip following the 2015 American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE) Coaster Con, the Freedle family went to Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg, Pennsylvania, where he rode Phoenix – his first major roller coaster. As he has grown taller, Logan kept adding new roller coaster credits. After the conclusion of the 2016 Coaster Con, the family stopped at Six Flags Over Texas to ride a few more roller coasters; it was during Logan’s first looping roller coaster experience, Shock Wave, where he hit the 100 coaster credit mark!

Having ACE members as parents with a passion and appreciation for coaster riding certainly has helped Logan reach this amazing milestone at such a young age. Many of today’s enthusiasts didn’t reach the 100 coaster count mark until their late teenage or early adulthood years, so Logan definitely has a big head start. Plus, since he just turned five this past spring, he is only about 46 inches tall. Coaster enthusiasts know what that means – Logan has a lot to look forward to. In addition to birthdays and the fun parties that come with them, he will continue to look forward to other milestones – 48 inches, 54 inches, and beyond as he continued to rack up those coveted coaster credits! Looking back on the first 100 coaster credits, Logan really has taken a liking to both his first big roller coaster, Phoenix, and his 100th coaster, Shock Wave, while giving high regards to Coastersaurus at Legoland in California! After concluding a lap on a nearby Six Flags roller coaster, Judge Roy Scream, and just prior to riding his 100th roller coaster, Logan exclaimed, “I was born to ride roller coasters!!!” Well, his parents, Bruce and Mauri, can’t really deny that!

On behalf of the entire Coaster Addict Team, I want to congratulate Logan on his thrilling accomplishment; we can’t wait to hear when he surpasses future coaster milestones. Until then, the rest of the coaster enthusiast world is placed on notice – Logan will be surpassing all of our counts VERY soon!
